Eden Hazard was the best player on the pitch in Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over West Ham at the weekend. The Belgian is confident his team can make winning the Premier League a formality in the following weeks.
Hazard contributed a goal in the 26th minute for his team. Hazard was once again central in Chelsea’s powerful counter-attacking strategy. Striker Diego Costa made the score-line 2-0 after the break. It was Costa’s 18th goal of the season. West Ham pulled one back through Manuel Lanzini in the closing stages of the game. The game was however controlled by Chelsea all throughout and Conte’s team never looked like losing.
Chelsea sit in first place of the Premier League. The London side are ten points ahead of second place Tottenham. It is a position Chelsea has held for most of the season. Hazard talked about the game and the desire to make winning the title in England official.
“We played a good game – maybe not the best of the season but at least we created a couple of chances, scored two goals and we won the game,” the Belgian told Sky Sports.
“We are at the top and we want to stay at the top. We have 11 games to play.We will try to win the title as soon as possible. We want the title back at Stamford Bridge. This is our target this season.”

“It’s more easy for me to play inside close to Diego and close to the goal,” the player explained.
“Sometimes when I play on the wing I am alone and if I want to be decisive I have to dribble past one or two guys. In this system we know what to do. [Conte] is good for the team – a great manager, a great character. He helps a lot.”
