The Europa League fantasy football is exciting, fun, and unexpected. But above everything, it makes fans, players and managers repeat one cliche: “This is a competition where UCL regulars get into the final stages.”

As with all cliches, there’s a clear element of truth to that. And this is one of the reasons why creating a strong UEL fantasy football side won’t be easy.

Here are some of the performing players so far. Consider using these as picks for your own team.

Remember that the free FootballCoin contest for the Europa League starts Thursday.

Top Fantasy Football Picks in the Europa League Ahead of Quarter Finals

Nikita Haikin (Bodo Glimt)

Yes, Bodo Glimt is the team you least expected to see in the UEL Quarter Finals. But with the kind of saves Nikita Haikin has been making, nobody should rule them out when the Norwegians meet Lazio.

Lucas Perri (Olympique Lyon)

Some of the saves that Lucas Perri pulled in the UEL, especially against FCSB in the previous round, were near supernatural. The Brazilian’s reflexes and ability to come off his line at just the right time make him one of the great sweeper-keepers of our time.

Yuri Berchiche (Athletic Bilbao)

It’s been a satisfying season, overall, for Athletic Bilbao. And they largely have their policy of slowly, sensibly developing young players to thank for that. But let’s not forget about their veterans.

It’s 35-year-old defender Yuri Berchiche that’s brought his extensive experience to the aid of his side in the Europa League. And, with players like him, you’d have to consider Bilbao among the favourites to win the trophy outright.

Alessio Romagnoli (Lazio)

Not much has gone Lazio’s way in the Serie A during this campaign. However, the Europa League has been the place where the team has seemed most comfortable.

Romagnoli is one of the few players who spot on the team is safe for next season. And with him fit, and with what appears to be an easier route to the final, the UEL is Lazio’s big shot at a trophy in 2025.

Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)

In retrospect, the season that Bruno Fernandes has had will be judged as excellent. It was, however, another failed year for Manchester United.

Regardless, Fernandes was the top midfielder in the Europa League according to fantasy football stats. It is frankly hard not to pick him.

Georges Mikautadze (Olympique Lyon)

Georges Mikautadze had a terrific European Championship. His performances for Georgia earned him a transfer to Lyon. And, he’s made the best of this opportunity, especially in UEL matches.

Mikautadze still has something to prove and looks like a player looking to climb higher up the pyramid.

Ernest Nuamah (Olympique Lyon)

Sadly, an ACL injury won’t allow us to see more of Ernest Nuamah this season. It’s a real shame. The youngster has shown determination to use his brief time allowed in the UEL. We can only hope that he returns to fitness even stronger.

Nicholas Williams (Athletic Bilbao)

Nicholas Williams is a diamond! But his performances are no longer rough around the edges. Williams has resisted the temptation to depart Bilbao for an even more famous side in the Summer.

Instead, he’s become the club’s top performer. And, if Bilbao wins the UEL trophy, Williams will be one of the most important reasons for this success.
