Ligue 1 must surely be viewed differently by football fans one year after two teams, Lyon and Paris Saint-Germain, stormed their way into the Champions League semi-finals. A seemingly endless supply of fresh talent accounts for the league’s success, and that of the French national team. Here are of the most exciting Under-21 players, in Ligue 1, at the moment.
1 Eduardo Camavinga (Stade Rennais F.C.)
Let’s start with, arguably, the most famous name on the list. Eduardo Camavinga may only be 18-years-old at the time of writing. This has not stopped teams like Manchester United and Real Madrid from taking a serious interest in the dynamic defensive midfielder. Blessed with excellentdefensive skill, great passing, and an ability to read the game, Camavinga is one of the most exciting young talents in Europe right now
2 Yacine Adli (Bordeaux)
PSG resembles Manchester City in more than one way. Of course, one of the similarities in the way that their youth players often make a great career for themselves playing for other teams in the league. This could be the case with Yacine Adli, a talented French midfielder capable of playing in a variety of systems, many roles. He has provided five assists this season and scored once, but the overarching feeling is that the best is yet to come.
3 Jeremy Doku (Stade Rennais F.C.)
Another carefully tracked player that is currently signed to Rennes, Doku has the making of world-class talent. His technique is superb. In fact, this season, only Hatem Ben Arfa averaged more dribbles per game. He also possesses a keen eye for the more complex tactical aspects of modern football. It’s no wonder many believe that Doku could be a future great.
4 Boubacar Kamara (Olympique de Marseille)
Boubacar Kamara is 21 years of age and so we hastily rush him onto our list. Marseille’s season has been a strange one complete with managerial changes and riots. Kamara though has been one of the bright spots in this campaign. The central defender has shown to possess the skills and strength to make him a forced to be reckoned with in 2021, and especially in the future.
5 Sacha Boey (Dijon)
Sacha Boey has the making of a great right-back, but Dijon fans and management have learned this year that they must be patient with the player. A fiercely dedicated player, capable of great crosses and vital tackles, Boey is still learning the trade. Still, if he reaches his full potential he could become a tremendous footballer.
