Sure, everyone’s quick to mention all of the legendary Serie A players active well into their late 30s. But the Italian league keeps producing marvelously talented players. Some of them, surely, will go on to do great things.
I’m taking my queue from FootballCoin stats and fantasy football (fantacalcio) data. Using that, I’m looking at the five best Under 21 players in Serie A for the 2024/25 season.
Best Serie A Fantasy Football Youngsters
Maximo Perrone (Como 1907) – 204 points
Maximo Perrone is hailed as a potential future great. And, more than anything, the player is showing just how important it is for young players to be active in the first squad. Perrone is on loan from Manchester City.
Considering the recent form of Pep Guardiola’s side, the defensive midfielder may be on the plane back to England quite soon.
Kristjan Asllani (Inter Milano) – 122 points
Asllani looks like a superstar in the making, but he is not yet the finished product. The good news is that the Albanian striker is consistently getting more playing time for Inter despite the undeniable form of Marcus Thuram or Lautaro Martinez.
Asllani has not scored for Inter this season yet. But few can doubt that he can be a great player in the years ahead for Inter and in Serie A fantasy football.
Mandela Keita (Parma) – 80.2 points
Keita is another player worth watching, currently signed to a team that has learned to value the enthusiasm of youth. The Belgium 22-year-old has been involved in nine games for the Serie A team. His great passing game and excellent tackling have the potential to earn him a starting place soon.
Matteo Prati (Cagliari) – 52 points
If we’re speaking of young Italian players who you should be watching closely, Matteo Prati fits the bill. The 20-year-old had already impressed in Serie C and B before joining Cagliari. He has made nearly 30 appearances for his new club since joining in 2023. You’re likely to see more of the defensive midfielder going forward.
Ibrahim Sulemana (Atalanta) – 10.5 points
If you want to prepare your Serie A fantacalcio team, check out Sulemana, which is currently playing for the most in-form club in Italy. Perhaps it is this form that has been keeping him away from the starting line-up. However, manager Gian Piero Gasperini has a history of working with talented youth players, and the 21-year-old from Ghana could be a future star.
