It’s time to get your fantasy MLS soccer team ready for 2025! And you should start at the back. Who’s going to keep things tidy? Who’s going to keep your defence safe?

The MLS has plenty of strong pairs of gloves in the team’s rosters. Today, we’re focusing on the best.

Ahead of the MLS 2025 season, these are the goalkeepers you should be scouting and picking for your soccer drafts!

Top 10 MLS Goalkeepers for Fantasy Soccer in 2025

Kristijan Kahlina (Charlotte FC)

Kristijan Kahlina (Charlotte FC)

Charlotte FC really found a winner in Croatian goalkeeper Kristijan Kahlina. In fact, Charlotte’s #1 choice was the top-rated MLS fantasy soccer goalkeeper in FootballCoin.

He didn’t just have a strong save percentage of 76%. Kahlina saved all penalty kicks against his team.

You want to start your draft, right? Start with Kahlina!

Hugo Lloris (Los Angeles FC)

Sure, Hugo Lloris is one of the undisputed stars of this 2025 MLS. But reputation alone means nothing when you’re up against great strikers.

Lloris has a relatively strong first season in North America. He was back in the starting line-up 37 times. But he only kept a clean sheet just over a third of the time for Los Angeles FC.

Pick Lloris for your fantasy football draft. Strong, but expensive choice. Check the FootballCoin marketplace for more details.

John McCarthy (LA Galaxy)

Will John McCarthy even get to play? After all, LA Galaxy is one of the biggest teams in the MLS. And, after all, the team brought back Brady Scott from out on loan.

But, lest we forget what great performances McCarthy put in the last season.  The American was the runner-up top goalie in MLS fantasy soccer.

Pick McCarthy?  Checking the starting lineups first, but if he’s in them, yes., go for it!

Stefan Frei (Seattle Sounders)

Stefan Frei (Seattle Sounders)

Stefan Frei is another star player who got to realize in his first season of the MLS that the level of competitiveness in the North American league is on part with many of those in Europe.

Frei was a top-10 goalkeeper last season. But both he and the Seattle Sounders will need to improve in this one.

Pick Frei? Have him on your radar for the second part of the regular season.

Brad Stuver (Austin FC)

Brad Stuver was one of my favourite MLS goalkeepers last season. And, Austin FC has plenty of potential, as far as I can tell.

Pick Stuver if you want a modern ball-playing goalkeeper with a good save rate.

Matt Freese (New York City FC)

You get plenty of eyes on you when playing for New York FC. Matt Freese seems to enjoy this.

Freese is likely still the #1 goalie choice ahead of Greg Ranjitsingh and a good choice for your fantasy soccer roster.

Brad Guzman (Atlanta United FC)

There’s a good chance that Atlanta United FC will be one of the most fun teams to watch. Will they be keeping out the goals as much as scoring them? With Brad Guzman as the starting goalkeeper, that’s a real possibility.

Yohei Takaoka (Vancouver Whitecaps FC)

Vancouver Whitecaps was a solid team last season. Japanese keeper Yohei Takaoka was in good form. And it could all work the same way this season. Takaoka remains an affordable, good choice for your MLS fantasy draft.

Drake Callendar (Inter Miami FC) Messi

Drake Callendar (Inter Miami FC)

“Do you know Lionel Messi?” “Can I get Luis Suarez’s autograph?” Those are questions with which Drake Callendar is getting used to. But if he wants to help Messi and Suarez lift the MLS trophy, he’ll need to improve his performances over last season.

Maarten Paes (FC Dallas)

I’ve belief in Maarten Paes. Last season may have just been a practice run. The former Dutch youth international can be one of the best goalkeepers in MLS fantasy soccer. I’m keeping an eye on FC Dallas and so should you.
