Kasper Dolberg is certainly a player whose star is on the rise. His agent recently confirmed the player’s team for next season.
According to Jens Steffensen, Dolberg’s agent, the 19-year-old will not depart from Ajax Amsterdam. The youngster played a significant role in Ajax’s campaign that saw the Dutch team reach the Europa League final. Dolberg is one of a host of young Ajax players reportedly being sought after by top European clubs.
“His goal is to stay at Ajax for another year,”Steffensen said. Ajax were defeated in the Europa League final by Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United. The manager must have clearly seen potential in Ajax’s players and it has been reported that United inquired about the transfer of Dolberg. Steffensen says that as of now there have not been any official offers submitted to Ajax, although he does not deny the interest of several clubs.
“Nothing is concrete yet. He is currently preparing for the [Denmark] games against Germany and Kazakhstan,” the agent tells Fussball Transfers.
“No club has submitted an offer to Ajax. I can tell you one thing – all the top European clubs have asked about him. But we haven’t seen any concrete or written offers yet.”
Kasper Dolberg is now seen as one of the best players to come out of the famous Ajax youth academy in recent years. The player enjoyed a great season, scoring 23 goals in all competitions and earning a call-up to Denmark’s national team. Dolberg admitted that the progress in his career came at a faster pace than he had expected.
In an interview with FourFourTwo, the player says that his objective for last season was to become a top player at the reserve team and perhaps sneak in a few games for Ajax’s senior squad. The departure of Arek Milik to Napoli offered Dolberg the chance he needed. The Denmark international is reportedly being scouted by other clubs besides United. Manchester City and Liverpool are reportedly also interested in the player.
