MLS Fantasy Soccer Top Picks in Week 7
Top Performers in MLS Fantasy Soccer Week 7
Djordje Mihailovic (Colorado Rapids) – MF – 37.45 points in FootballCoin
It finally happened! I was feeling a little embarrassed to tell you the truth. I’d praised Djordje Mihailovic in the pre-season. But neither he nor the Rapids had set the world on fire.
Well, Mihailovic’s performance against Charlotte FC was spectacular. The former AZ midfielder scored a brace and had the ball glued to his feet the whole game. Great fantasy soccer pick for the upcoming weeks!
Daniel (San Jose Earthquakes) – GK – 36.5 points
San Jose Earthquakes put a stop to a 3-game winning streak. But the team ought to thank goalkeeper Daniel for that. In truth, Seattle Sounders were unlucky not to score more, with 26 shots and 18 on target.
Tani Oluwaseyi (Minnesota United) – FW – 35 points
Tani Oluwaseyi has already scored four goals this season, a brace being delivered against Salt Lake at the weekend.
Eric Ramsay’s defensive 5-3-2 tactic doesn’t always work. But against Salt Lake, those counterattacks were just what Oluwaseyi was looking for.
Charles Gil (New England Revolution) – FW – 34.5 points
Finally, a win! New England Revolution’s performances have been dire this season. But against a side with a similarly expensive squad, New York Red Bulls, some signs of improvement could be seen.
Charles Gil, one of the team’s stars, used his experience to score one goal from open play and another from the penalty spot. New England looked well-drilled and capable of taking advantage of set pieces and counterattacks. Good, but not enough for a great season just yet.
Wannes Wolf (New York City FC) – MF – 33.5 points
Instead of a breath of fresh air, it was another cold shower for New York City FC. But this time around, the NYC FC was simply outscored by a hungrier, more capable Atlanta United.
It ended 4-3. Wannes Wolf scored a couple. And while his team comes back empty-handed, they may have just found themselves a new star.
Will you consider picking him for your fantasy soccer team?
Antony Alves Santos (Portland Timbers) – FW – 32 points
Portland’s finally starting to string some victories together. The team made light work of Dynamo Houston. It ended 3-1. And despite poor passing by his teammates, Antony (no, not that one!) scored twice and was menacing off the left flank throughout.
Diego Rossi (Columbus Crew) – FW – 31.5 points
Diego Rossi is arguably one of the greatest players in the history of the MLS. What a relief it has been that his performances since joining Columbus Crew have only added to his legacy.
Rossi nearly single-handedly secured victory against DC United, in spite of Columbus’ midfielders often lacking creativity.
He may be slumming it! But beware, fantasy soccer fans. Diego Rossi is still one of the top strikers in the MLS! Some things don’t easily change!
