He’s one of the season’s top players and another candidate for Gareth Southgate’s national team.

Jan Bednarek (Southampton)
The Saints have only themselves to blame for not occupying a place among the EPL’s best. They have certainly had the players capable of achieving this. Most interestingly though, these footballers have, most often been, unsung, underrated here as has been the case with Jan Bednarek. Illan Meslier (Leeds United)
Marcelo Bielsa’s arrival at Leeds generated an immense amount of hype around the club. It was warranted as the Peacocks managed to earn a historic promotion back to the Premier League. Transfers were few and far between. Illan Meslier was brought in on a loan from lowly Ligue 1 side Lorient. His performances have often been inspired. Anyone that has followed Leeds across the season will know that he has had his work cut out for him. Leeds is not a team to prioritize defense. Meslier is a better candidate for the Golden Gloves trophy than many of the league’s most famous players.
