Premier League teams 2021/2022
Arsenal
Players to watch:
William Saliba: – Following his successful loan spell at OGC Nice, Saliba has returned to Arsenal. David Luiz’s departure could offer a great opportunity for the Frenchman to become a regular starter. If he does, he may become a consistent points-earner in the fantasy Premier League.
Bukayo Saka: – Saka’s successful Euro 2020 campaign will not go unnoticed. The English forward impressed last season for Arsenal as well. This, however, maybe the year where the 17-year-old is given additional chances to show off his skill. A wonderkid playing for a top club should be on any fantasy manager’s radar.
Notes: Arsenal has missed out on Champions League football, the team’s main objective, since 2017. Previously, they’d qualified for 19 successive seasons to the UCL. This season, it is expected, the team’s owners will invest massively in transfers. The hope is that these will help implement Mikel Arteta’s vision.
While the team has underperformed in recent seasons, still, there are numerous players worth keeping tabs on for fantasy football.

Nuno Tavares – Benfica | David Luiz |
Albert Sambi Lokonga – Anderlecht | William Saliba – O. Marseille |
Aston Villa
Players to watch:
Ollie Watkins: – Watkins has shown himself to be a highly dependable striker in England’s top-tier. He is, also, still moderately priced as compared to other strikers. Consider picking him for your draft.
Jack Grealish: – Grealish is, without a doubt, the team’s most important player. Keeping him is Aston Villa’s best bet for success next season. Well-priced and one of EPL’s best midfielders.
Notes: Aston Villa has been spending massively during the summer window. Their above-expectations performances last season have, no doubt, given fans hope. With a promise to retain the team’s most important players and, also, bring in some important additions, Villa should be on the radar of football fans.

Emiliano Buendía – Norwich City | Ahmed El Mohamady |
Ashley Young – Inter Milan | Tom Heaton |
Brentford
Players to watch:
Ivan Toney: – Toney was last season’s top goalscorer in the Championship. The 25-year-old managed 33 goals. If Brentford manages to hang on to the talented forward, there’s every reason for fans to get excited.
Ethan Pinnock: – The central defender showed himself to be a real leader for Brentford last season. The team will be in much need of his abilities during the 2021/22 EPL season.
Notes: Brentford is newly promoted to the Premier League. What’s more, this is the very first time they’ve reached the top-tier. Their sensible transfer policies and enthusiasm could count for a lot though. Fantasy managers may be able to pick up some real bargains here.
Notable Transfers
Transfers In | Transfers Out |
Nathan Young-Coombes – Rangers | Henrik Dalsgaard |
Kristoffer Ajer – Celtic | Emiliano Marcondes |
Brighton and Hove Albion
Players to watch:
Joel Veltman: – Veltman encapsulates Brighton’s fighting spirit. The Dutchman is a versatile player, capable of playing competently in numerous positions. Brighton is his first experience following his time spent at Ajax. In his second season, is where things truly come alive for the player.
Leandro Trossard: – Trossard is a Belgium journeyman striker. For the last couple of years though, the player has found a home at Brighton. The player has shown to be a great contributor to his team’s attacking plays, scoring 5 goals and assisting for 5 during the 2019/2020 EPL season.
Notes: Brighton has proven themselves to be a feisty side that the EPL’s most important teams find it uncomfortable to play against. Once again, their squad does not include many stars. With that being said, the best of scouts will be able to find players to use for their drafts.
Notable Transfers

Enock Mwepu – RB Salzburg | Davy Propper – PSV |
Kjell Scherpen – Ajax Amsterdam | Mathew Ryan – Real Sociedad |
Burnley
Players to watch:
Nathan Collins – Collins has just arrived from Stoke. He’s 20-years-old has played consistently well in the team’s central defense. Given Burnley’s squad, there’s every reason to believe we’ll be seeing a good deal of him this season.
James Tarkowski: – The Englishman is a dependable, no-frills defender and a leader for Burnely. Worth considering when pushed for choices.
Notes: Burnley must be feeling the pressure this season. The last time around, they barely avoided the drop. Stats and averages are not in their favor. Sean Dyche’s men will really need to rise to the occasion if we are to see Burnley in the EPL in the 2022/23 edition.
Notable Transfers
Transfers In | Transfers Out |
Nathan Collins – Stoke City | Ben Gibson – Norwich City |
Wayne Hennessey | Robbie Brady |
Chelsea
Players to watch:
Notes: Chelsea won the Champions League last season. Sure, this is in line with the team’s general expectations. The fact, though, that Thomas Tuchel has needed so little time in achieving this feat was impressive. This season they will be looking to try and win the Premier League title. Considering their strength in all departments, there’s no reason to believe that they cannot.
Notable Transfers
Transfers In | Transfers Out |
Olivier Giroud – AC Milan | |
Billy Gilmour – Norwich City (loan) |
Crystal Palace
Players to sign:
Wilfried Zaha: – Zaha has been Crystal Palace’s most important player for a while now. Seemingly at the end of every season, the team has had to fight to retain his services. With the forward-looking settled at the moment and a new manager in charge, Wilfried Zaha remains one of the players to watch out for this season.
Tyone Mitchell – Mitchell has done brilliantly to step into the role previously occupied by Patrick van Aanholt. His performances last season were good. However, now that he is settled and that he’s grown in terms of maturity, even more is expected of Mitchell.
Notes: At the end of last season, Crystal Palace did the unthinkable and let go of their long-time manager, Roy Hodgson. Under the veteran tactician, Palace became a challenger for the first half of the Premier League table. Patrick Vieira is now tasked with helping the team reach a new tier. With a relatively strong squad at his disposal, many will have faith in the Frenchman.
Notable Transfers
Transfers In | Transfers Out |
Michael Olise – Reading | Gary Cahill |
Marc Guehi – Chelsea | Patrick van Aanholt |
Everton
Players to sign:
Dominic Calvert-Lewin: – The forward was one of Ancelotti’s personal projects last season. The additional attention given to him paid off. The striker was also a member of England’s squad to Euro 2020. Many expect and hope for Calvert-Lewin to be Everton’s chief goal threat this season.
Jordan Pickford: – The England keeper was selected as the best shot-stopper in the Euro 2020 TOTY according to FootballCoin stats. Consistently good performances and growing confidence should make Pickford a prime candidate for your team as well.
Notes: Everton could be a team with identity issues. Last season they struggled despite having a good squad and being lead by Carlo Ancelotti. The famous manager has departed for Real Madrid in the meantime. The Toffees still possess a strong squad, but this season may prove difficult for a team with top-half aspirations.
Notable Transfers

Demarai Gray – Bayer Leverkusen | Theo Walcott – Southampton |
Andros Townsend | Joshua King |
Leeds United
Players to sign:
Kalvin Philips: – The midfielder has confirmed that the hype surrounding him since his days in the Championship was founded. He has had a great season both at the club and for England. An affordable and sensible singing for your squad.
Raphinha: – Raphinha’s transfer to Leeds, in many ways, represented, the owners’ belief in Marcelo Bielsa. The Frenchman did very well last season, contributing goals and assists along the way. This year, however, could be the moment that he truly comes alive.
Notes: Leeds United was immensely fun to watch last season. Marcelo Bielsa’s side has already shock off the first season blues. Many would expect the team to focus on going on better. Could they be Best of the rest? Can Bielsa help them reach an even higher position in the EPL table?
Notable Transfers
Transfers In | Transfers Out |
Jack Harrison – Manchester City | Kiko Casilla – Elche |
Junior Sirpo – Barcelona | Ezgjan Alioski |
Leicester City
Players to sign:
Kelechi Iheanacho: – Iheanacho’s fans have been waiting a long time for the forward to truly come into his own. Last season we saw glimpses of just the Nigerian’s capacity. Could he prove himself to be one of the best EPL strikers this year?
James Maddison: – Maddison missed out on the England squad for Euro 2020 by barely. This means that he has even more to prove this season. One of the most intelligent players in the Premier League, the highly technical midfielder is a great bet for your fantasy football squad.
Notes: Leicester City is, for many, a prime example of a club that is run well. Last season they made it closer to the top EPL spot than in all the years since they fabled Premier League title. Brendan Rodgers is regarded as one of the best managers in the league and the squad he has at his disposal is capable of doing great things.
Notable Transfers

Boubakary Soumare – Lille | Christian Fuchs – Charlotte FC |
Ryan Bertrand | Wes Morgan |
Liverpool
Players to sign:
Mohamed Salah: – He may not be the player that everyone in the world is talking about But, Salah remains, without a doubt, one of the most consistent forward in the Premier League. A world-class talent capable of scoring great goals, Salah is a pricier alternative for your squad, but one that deserves keeping in mind.
Trent Alexander-Arnold: – Throughout the past seasons, there’s likely been no other player more beloved by fantasy manager than Alexander-Arnold. An injury derailed his participation in the European Championship. He will be eager to make up for his ahead of the World Cup.
Notes: Last season, it seemed mere like Liverpool was biding its time. Injuries plague Klopp’s side since the early days of the 2020/2021 campaign. Rested and recalibrated, Liverpool should, once again, be one of the favorites throughout this EPL season.
Notable Transfers
Transfers In | Transfers Out |
Ibrahima Konaté – RB Leipzig | Georginio Wijnaldum – PSG |
Harry Wilson – Fulham |
Manchester City
Players to sign:
Kevin de Bruyne: – Injuries may have robbed Kevin de Bruyne of enjoying the final part of last season. Regardless of that, or of his price in fantasy football, at his best KDB is nearly unplayable. One of the best players of his generation, and one of the best midfielders in the EPL’s history.
Ruben Dias: – Dias was arguably the player that changed Manchester City’s season around. He is also one of the best defenders in the league, and, likely, one of the least pricey options available.
Notes: Manchester City was, without a doubt, the best team in the EPL last season. Still, they too are undergoing changes. Sergio Aguero is gone. Pep Guardiola looks anxious to implement tactical alterations. On, of course, the target on their back has become larger. With that being said, City remains the team to beat in the 2021/22 season.
Notable Transfers
Transfers In | Transfers Out |
Ibrahima Konaté – RB Leipzig | Sergio Aguero – Barcelona |
Eric Garcia – Barcelona |
Manchester United
Players to sign:
Bruno Fernandes: – Fernandes has been United’s best player since arriving from Portugal. It is true that the midfielder’s performances at Euro 2020 were not great. That shouldn’t worry Red Devils fans just yet. Fernandes is a great addition to any fantasy football draft.
Harry Maguire: – Maguire has his fans and his critics. However, his stats in fantasy football show him to be a nearly indispensable piece in creating a quality draft. Furthermore, he is the captain of England and Manchester United. That’s no mean feat for any player.
Notes: Ole Gunnar Solsjaer is a manager spoiled like few others. This summer the Norwegian was offered a new contact. Furthermore, the team was updated with the arrivals of Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho. No other club has spent quite as much as Manchester United in recent seasons, and the team’s owners will look for a return on their investment.
Notable Transfers
Transfers In | Transfers Out |
Jadon Sancho – Borussia Dortmund | Sergio Romero – Released |
Raphael Varane – Real Madrid | Tahith Chong – Birmingham City |
Newcastle United
Players to sign:
Ryan Fraser: – Ryan Fraser is a dependable and versatile player. This is what Steve Bruce looks for and needs in a player. These are also qualities that fantasy football managers should consider.
Callum Wilson: – Wilson is, also, not exactly a star player. This doesn’t mean he hasn’t been one of the best strikers in the Premier League last season. With 12 goals scored and the faith of the entire city in him, Callum Wilson’s prospect of succeeding this season are significant.
Notes: Many, myself included, saw Newcastle as a prime relegation candidate last season. They’ve proven us wrong. On occasion, they’ve managed to outplay, or, at least, outwork top-caliber EPL teams. This season will not be any easier. However, confidence will have been raised by recent performances.
Notable Transfers
Transfers In | Transfers Out |
Norwich City
Players to sign:
Teemu Pukki: – A hero back in Finland, as well as one for Norwich, Teemu Pukki encapsulates the qualities on which this team will rely. Strong, confident, and able to learn from past mistakes, Pukki is the team’s most famous player.
Todd Cantwell: – Cantwell is the player that nearly every important team in the EPL would like to sign. He doesn’t have a great deal of experience at this level. That’s why we are banking on his enthusiasm to bring some great performances out of the youngster.
Notes: Norwich stuck to their promises. With a consistent vision to rely on, the Canaries made the leap back into the EPL just one year after being relegated to the second tier. Staying up will be a challenge. However, this is a team that knows from experience what is demanded of them.
Notable Transfers
Transfers In | Transfers Out |
Billy Gilmour – Chelsea | Emiliano Buendía – Aston Villa |
Milot Rashica – Werder Bremen | Philip Heise – Karlsruhe |
Southampton
Players to sign:
Danny Ings: – Ings is in the strange situation in which players like Jack Grealish or Wilfried Zaha have found themselves. He is the best player for Southampton. He could easily play for one of the league’s biggest teams. This is unlikely to happen just yet. That is the reason why picking him for your side is a great idea.
James-Ward Prowse: – Prowse was one of the best players in the entire Premier League last season. The English player is more than a good budget option. Prowse made it into the EPL TOTY in FootballCoin. He’s a player who has often proven his skill and who deserves a shot in your fantasy draft.
Notes: Few teams have oscillated as wildly as Southampton in recent years. At their best, they can play against any of the top teams in the EPL. At their worst, they are a club that faces relegation challenges. This season may prove a big challenge for the Saints.
Notable Transfers
Transfers In | Transfers Out |
Theo Walcott – Everton | Ryan Bertrand |
Romain Perraud – Brest | Angus Gunn – Norwich City |
Tottenham
Players to sign:
Heung-min Son: – Son was, perhaps, the best forward in the Premier League last season. Naturally, his success also hinges on players, like Harry Kane did last year, offering him good support. However, Son is at the peak of his powers. Great pick for your fantasy football draft.
Notes: Some of the best players in the EPL last season belonged to Tottenham. This didn’t stop Spurs from having, according to regular standards, a poor season. With a new manager in charge, Nuno Espirito, and plenty of promises from the team’s board, they will hope to regain the pacing they’ve shown in recent seasons.
Notable Transfers
Transfers In | Transfers Out |
Pierluigi Gollini – Atalanta | Juan Foyth – Villarreal |
Bryan Gil – Sevilla | Toby Alderweireld – Al-Duhail |
Watford
Players to sign:
Ismaila Sarr: – Sarr had a brilliant season in the Championship last year. He is on the lists of most of the important clubs in the Premier League. Youth and experience are concerns. However, if he overcomes the nerves he will naturally have, Sarr could be Watford’s most important player.
Daniel Bachmann: – Bachmann’s performances during the second part of last season affected Watford’s success in an amazing manner. The goalkeeper could be an excellent budget choice for fantasy football managers.
Notes: Watford will have plenty of good and bad examples to learn from as they approach the Premier League. The team did wonderfully last season in the Championship. The overall feeling is that while the season will be tough, with good management of their resources, Watford can continue their EPL adventure.
Notable Transfers
Transfers In | Transfers Out |
Imran Louza – FC Nantes | Achraf Lazaar |
Mattie Pollock – Grimsby Town | Craig Dawson |
West Ham United
Players to sign:
Michail Antonio: – Antonio was West Ham’s star in a player of otherwise hard-working, utility players. Great in front of goal, and terrific in contributing to the team’s attack, Antonio’s only possible weakness is a proclivity towards injuries.
Aaron Cresswell: – Cresswell was another surprising addition to the FootballCoin TOTY. An excellent defender capable of providing assists and racking up points, Cresswell is an excellent choice this season.
Notes: West Ham narrowly missed out on Champions League football last season. But, the campaign did help prove one thing. This is the perfect team for David Moyes’ style. The manager’s star had been in decline for years. Yet, last year, his strategies worked excellently. Fans will expect more of the same this time around.
Notable Transfers
Transfers In | Transfers Out |
Craig Dawson – Watford | Fabian Balbuena |
Pierre Ekwah Elimby – Chelsea | Felipe Anderson |
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Players to sign:
Raul Jimenez: – Wolves are not known as an attacking side, necessarily. However, when fully fit, the Mexican player has shown to possess the kind of skill and strength required to give EPL defenders the sweats.
Rayan Ait-Nouri: – Ait-Nouri is a talented player that is just beginning to leave his mark on the EPL. Last season, at 20 years old, he earned his starting position for Wolves. This year, he may be one of the league’s best wing-backs. A good option to have in mind, no doubt.
Notes: Wolves are not quite the team that they were two seasons ago. Yes, simply managing to remain in the Premier League is an achievement. But, for a team that became, for a while, The Best of the rest, this may not be enough anymore. They’ll have a new manager and they’ll attempt to improve this season on their last campaign.
