Gent is having a good, albeit unremarkable, season. On the other hand, Tsuyoshi Watanabe has been having an excellent 2024 year.
The defender is never injured, always devoted, and capable of making his teammates feel calm under opponents’ pressure.
Midfielders
Hans Vanaken (Club Brugge)
Hans Vanaken is the captain of Club Brugge and one of the most skilful players in the Belgium pro league. Routinely, he is also Club Brugge’s most important player.
This season, Vanaken has scored 6 goals and assisted in 8. His career will be defined by his time in the Belgium league, but he seems happy with this.
Thibo Somers (Cercle Brugge)
Thibo Somers has developed into a good midfielder for Cercle Brugge. Somers has been honing his skills for the senior Cercle Brugge team since 2019. This year he finally became a leader and deserved a place in our Team of the Year.
Rob Schoofs (Yellow-Red KV Mechelen)
Mechelen may be a team working hard to avoid relegation from the Belgium Pro League. But Rob Schoofs has been the team’s most consistent performer throughout 2024. This season, he has 5 goal contributions.
Patrik Hrosovski (KRC Genk)
Genk is the surprise hit of the 2024/25 season. Genk is the leader of the league at the moment. The team, which usually invests in youth, found its leader in 32-year-old Hrosovski.
Attackers
Vincent Janssen (Royal Antwerp)
